This takes place around Christmas. The book so far is about holly finally getting a date. Later that day Holly's brother Hunter (Raina's boyfriend) went into work that day and was robbed and was shot to death. So the whole family is a total mess and Raina wont leave her house and wont take any calls, same with the family. The mother of Hunter wont leave her bed for weeks at a time and she wont cook dinner like she use to and she said she doesn't believe in god anymore because why would he take someone away if they never did anything wrong. So for Christmas the whole family went on vacation to get away from things because Holly's mother didn't even want to decorate the house or put up the Christmas tree. Raina just found out that she had a older sister but her mom gave her up for adoption when she was a baby. Kathleen went to a party with her boyfriend Carson and she got totally messed up and she passed out.
